Today, it’s an art form – because why wouldn’t you want to look good at the same time? Throw one over the shoulders of a blazer or coat to create a more interesting silhouette, while effortlessly adding a laid-back edge to a smarter look. ## Play With Prints Going tonal is the simplest way to layer well, but you run the risk of the overall look feeling a little flat. Try adding a point of difference along the way – a plain tee could be swapped out for a striped one that breaks up the block colours layered over the top. If opting for a print, whether it's a striped tee or checked coat, stick to just one to avoid overcomplicating things. ## Mix Slim & Bulky Pieces A chunky knit with a lightweight coat like a mac always feels more polished than, say, a chunky knit with a heavy shearling coat. The mix of prints, textures and fabrics is simple but effective, proving how easily layering can make an outfit pop. ## Focus On Fabrics While leather is a key winter hero, it’s tricky to layer or pair with other fabrics. Instead, try denim or corduroy with classics like wool and cashmere.
