## What’s the story? 

  

 

Originally, grandpacore was an anti-fashion statement made by a younger crowd who appreciated the comfort and practicality of cardigans, flat caps and oversized trousers. But fashion’s ongoing interests in vintage, sustainability and normcore all helped it build momentum inside the industry. For AW24, designers from [Fendi](https://www.fendi.com/gb-en/) to [Prada](https://www.prada.com/gb/en.html) have leant into the cosy charm of grandad style, showcasing chunky knits, wide-leg trousers and vintage-inspired outerwear.

 

## What’s happening now? 

  

 

This season, grandpacore has evolved into a full-fledged fashion movement that’s all about mixing old-school textures – wool cardigans, corduroy slacks, tweed blazers – with chunky sneakers and baseball caps. The trend is built on an effortless style that blends comfort and utility with high-fashion credibility: sweaters are worn tucked into pleated trousers, which are neatly belted, and vintage frames complete the look.

## How To Get Involved 

  

 

For a refined take on the trend, look for tailored pieces and luxe fabrics like cashmere and wool blends. Layering is key, but expect bolder choices in accessories, from knitted scarves to patterned loafers. As the trend continues, we’ll likely see more collaborations between heritage brands and streetwear designers, pushing grandpacore into new, elevated territory.
