I just put a tiny bit in when my hair’s wet and let it dry. I love Paraboot because they’re made not far from where I grew up, near Lyon. Now you find them everywhere, but I’ve been wearing since I was five. ### The Accessory My [Zenith watch](https://www.chrono24.co.uk/zenith/el-primero-original-1969--id34774904.htm?searchHash=1516b377_yivaZE&pos=1) is a re-edition of a 1969 El Primero. I love brands that have a lot of history and make it in their own way. This was the first automatic chronograph movement. It has a racing aesthetic and at 38mm it’s the perfect size for my wrist. ### The Sunglasses I’ve always loved [Oliver Peoples](https://www.oliverpeoples.com/uk/0OV5298SU--167752) because of *American Psycho* with Christian Bale. It’s the only brand he wears. I’m not a psycho, but I’ve always been a fan of the movie and the writer Bret Easton Ellis. ### The Travel Essential The [Leica M4P camera](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/317216346763). It’s the same as the M6, but without a light meter, so it’s fully manual – I like everything to be manual. The brand has history, it goes up in value, it’s resistant and reliable. It’s a beautiful camera. ### The Clothes I love my De Bonne Facture [jumper](https://mrporter.prf.hn/click/camref:1100l4JRj/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mrporter.com%2Fen-gb%2Fmens%2Fproduct%2Fde-bonne-facture%2Fclothing%2Fcrew-necks%2Fwool-boucle-sweater%2F1647597340949418) in virgin wool. It’s from last season, it’s undyed, and it’s very natural and warm. Plus, I’ve got a few pairs of [Rototo socks](https://www.outsidersstore.com/products/everyday-pile-mini-crew-socks-873354-light-grey), and I love how strong and comfortable they are. ### The Technique I tend to pack last minute from a list I write on paper. I’ve learnt the actual packing from my wife Danielle. I lay all my underwear unfolded very flat at the bottom of the suitcase. Then I do a pile of t-shirts because I wear a lot of t-shirts. Then jumpers (which are my favourite piece of clothing), then trousers and toiletries. Then, crucially, I try to fit my shoes in the side. I always put the shoes in a bag. They come in all sorts of colours and are made of that slightly flexible plastic material. I always travel with one because it's so easy to carry on flights. ### The Fragrance I tend to wear [Le Fleur](https://golflefleur.com/collections/french-waltz/products/french-waltz-100ml). I like the freshness, and it's great for day and night. ### The Shoes I’ve just launched a pair of [canvas deck shoes](https://www.goral-shoes.co.uk/products/garmsville-by-goral-deck-shoe) with UK shoemaker Goral, designed specifically from the perspective of someone who travels a lot. They can be worn with or without laces – perfect for the beach and airport security. ### The Accessory The [Swatch x Omega Moonwatch](https://www.swatch.com/en-gb/bioceramic-moonswatch-collection/bioceramic-moonswatch.html) is the perfect holiday watch as it's light, fun and relatively inexpensive. I'm currently wearing the Mission to Mercury one. If you scratch the watch face at any time, pop into a Swatch store and they'll polish it for you on the spot. ### The Sunglasses I got some clip-on sunnies made in an optician's in Paris – one of those super chic places that only real Parisians seem to frequent. I was lucky, I stumbled across it and spent a couple of hours there while they handcrafted and fitted detachable lenses to my glasses. I can wear it in three or four different ways, depending on the environment and the weather. What I won't do is plan looks. I like to be spontaneous and dress according to my mood, even if I only have a handful of shirts to choose from. Inevitably, some looks are more successful than others. But, hey, we're all allowed to have the occasional off day, right?
