What To Do This Weekend 27.03.24
Pass The Popcorn:
The Beautiful Game, Netflix
Looking for something to watch over the Easter Bank Holiday? Bill Nighy takes the lead role in this sports drama centred on the Homeless World Cup (HWC), an actual soccer tournament highlighting unhoused athletes worldwide. Produced by HWC ambassador Colin Farrell, the film documents the journey of the England team and their coach.

Get Out Of The City:
RH England
If you’re looking to get out of London for the bank holiday, Aynho Park might be the destination to put into your sat nav. A 90-minute drive from the capital, this 17th-century country estate near Banbury has been taken over by RH, a top-end American design retailer. As well as showcasing some luxe homewares, the historic venue is also now home to The Orangery, a live-fire restaurant offering dishes like wood-grilled avocado with caviar and wagyu ribeye.

Grab A Special Slice:
Brat x Crisp Pizza
From Thursday 28th March, west London favourite Crisp Pizza is popping up in east London. It’s joined forces with Brat x Climpson’s Arch boss Tomos Parry to create a £50pp menu featuring a choice of two New York-style pies – we like the sound of the one with Brat's house-made chorizo and spring vegetables. Also included are snacks, sides and tiramisu. To drink, you’ll have a range of natural and low-intervention options courtesy of Gergovie Wines, and there will be a mezcal hut in the front courtyard offering shots and verdita chasers.

Book Ahead:
The Killers
On the back of their new compilation album Rebel Diamonds, indie-rock gods The Killers have announced UK tour dates, including big arena shows in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and London. There are still tickets if you fancy catching the chart-topping Las Vegas rockers – known for hits like Mr Brightside and Smile Like You Mean It – at the O2.

Try A New Dish:
Bébé Bob
Bébé Bob, the little sister of Bob Bob Ricard, has introduced ‘Landais’ vodka chicken nuggets to its menu. Known for its selection of vodka served at -18ºC, the restaurant is making its nugget batter with vodka instead of water, resulting in a crisper, lighter crunch. The meat comes from Gascony’s Arnaud Tauzin, which has been in business since the 19th century. The dish is served at lunch only, alongside gochujang mayonnaise, a side of fries and a winter leaf salad. We’d add it to a wider meal – the restaurant’s hero dishes include anchovy egg mayonnaise, and prawn cocktail with cognac marie rose sauce.

Settle In:
Road House, Amazon
This new film is a modern retelling of the 1989 cult classic (which starred Patrick Swayze). In this remake, Jake Gyllenhaal takes on the lead role, but with a contemporary spin: his character is an ex-UFC fighter who finds himself working at a bar in Florida. In his attempt to turn the rowdy bar’s brawling clientele around, he runs into trouble. If you want something to kickstart your weekend, this is it.

Get A Culture Fix:
B&O Art Lates
Known for his intimate portraits of David Bowie, Queen and The Rolling Stones, and as the official photographer for bands like Pink Floyd and The Who; Denis O'Regan is the ultimate insider. Starting this week, the photographer will be showcasing his work at Bang & Olufsen’s Mayfair store. The spot, with the launch of its music lates, has become a cultural hub as of late, and this exclusive month-long residency with the artist is just the beginning. Watch this space...
