DJ Stace’s WFH Playlist

DJ Stace’s WFH Playlist

/

In our newly altered reality, it can be hard to stay focused and productive. To help you make the most of working from home during the day, then unwind properly in the evening, we asked DJ Stace to make a playlist. Here’s what he came up with…

As the title of this Spotify playlist implies, I’ve put these ten tracks together for two purposes – to concentrate and to relax. The songs I’ve chosen are ones I put on to clear my mind and focus on a task that needs full immersion. But I’d also play them at home after a DJ set to unwind.

To start the playlist, ‘Vladimir’s Blues’ by Max Richter encourages you to relax with some melodic piano, focusing your mind on the laidback tones of the beautifully simple arrangement. Zero 7 then bring the warmth of a beach holiday, as vocalists Sia Furler and Sophie Barker synchronise with the searching strings on their track ‘Destiny’.

‘Love on a Train’ will remind anyone who’s old enough of an infamous coming-of-age scene on a train in Risky Business. Any worries should disintegrate on its wonderfully arpeggiated rhythm. Adding something a little different, ‘Daymarks’ is a country-inspired track that creates a chilled-out atmosphere with its delicate, incandescent, single guitar-string plucks.

Finishing the playlist in style is one of the most eclectic and cool electronic bands of recent years. I’ve chosen Air’s haunting ‘Playground Love’, which is often overlooked in favour of their more commercially successful music, but really shouldn’t be.

Enjoy.
