Considered one of Ibiza’s best sunset spots – and affordable properties – Hostal La Torre is a hidden gem in San Antonio. On a clifftop overlooking Cala Gracio beach, the hostel was made for meeting likeminded travellers on the terrace bar, exploring beaches along the west coast and soaking up chilled vibes reminiscent of the island’s 90s heyday. Guests can stay in one of 17 rooms with whitewashed walls, wooden furniture and nautical accessories, and dine at destination restaurant La Torre which serves seafood and tapas. There isn’t a pool, but you can sit in the hostel’s lush gardens or enjoy Cala Gracio’s calm waters nearby.

Easily one of the top hotels in Santa Eulalia, on the quieter side of the island, Hotel Riomar attracts guests who want to lounge on the beach, eat excellent seafood and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of Ibiza’s eastern coast. With fresh interiors (the team who designed Nobu in Shoreditch were behind the 2021 refurbishment), mid-century style is mixed with neutral colours for a modern look. Guests can take part in complimentary activities like yoga in the morning, before tucking into generous breakfasts on the terrace. The food is particularly good – expect calamari, truffle pasta and king prawns served with cocktails – and spicy palomas and margaritas with beats from the DJ at Tribe.

A deluxe, suites-only addition to the Paradiso Art Hotel, Grand Paradiso is set to open in August. In San Antonio Bay, its selling point is its faithfully recreated 1950s Americana style. A first for the island, the theme incorporates art-deco touches, jukeboxes in the lobby, a 50s-style cinema and a jacuzzi inside a Cadillac Eldorado (the ‘Caduzzi’). Film is a huge inspiration here – suites are called ‘Almódovar’, ‘David Lynch’ and ‘Wes Anderson’ – and there will be an art gallery celebrating works by audio-visual artists. In the pool area, look out for a DJ booth in the shape of a classic Miami beach hut, complete with backstage VIP space for 20 guests.

Four-star Nativo Hotel Ibiza opened late last summer – and is perfect if you’re looking for something fun, relaxed and a little bit boho. It’s in Siesta, a tranquil residential area of Santa Eulalia del Río, on the northern coast of Ibiza. For round-the-clock partying, W Ibiza offers a high-octane experience. Set right beside Santa Eulalia Bay, there are six restaurants and bars, each with a different vibe. Set to open next year, this boutique hotel originally opened in 1933. Now it’s been taken over by Experimental Group, which already owns the island’s ever-popular Experimental Beach Ibiza at Playa des Codolar Salinas. The team has spent the last few months renovating the hotel’s 33 bedrooms and its restaurant and lounge bar Sabbaba Montesol (currently open), which brings together the flavours of Jerusalem and Spain. Following the transformation by French designer Dorothée Meilichzon, the restaurant has spaces inside, on a large terrace and on a striking rooftop overlooking Ibiza Old Town and the port.

OKU Ibiza is back for its second season. With a relaxed, rustic vibe, this hotel has the feel of a Six Senses property – just at a more accessible price. Offering understated five-star luxury in a beautiful location, it’s a few minutes’ walk from beautiful Cala Gració bay. One of the biggest openings on the island last year, Six Senses has already cemented itself as a go-to spot for those in the know. With excellent service and all the facilities you’d expect from a Six Senses property, it’s perched over beautiful Xarraca Bay. The hotel has already received a string of awards for its eco-friendly design (think solar panels, renewable energy and geothermal cooling systems in the infinity pool). There’s a variety of rooms on offer, a spa with an extensive treatment list, and bars and restaurants for various occasions, including HaSalon headed up by Israeli chef Eyal Shani, and the new Beach Caves inspired by Latin America. A top choice for a blow-the-budget trip.

The Standard has finally landed in Ibiza. Fronting the Vara de Rey plaza in Old Town, the hotel is set in a stark white building that forms the backdrop for the bright, eclectic décor and landscaping throughout the property. The design celebrates the 1960s energy that originally attracted so many to Ibiza. A street-level restaurant spills onto the plaza during the day, before transforming into a nightlife hub after hours. The Standard also has a separate building – Casa Privada – available for groups. With its own private pool, bar, gym, lounge and 14 bedrooms, the hideaway is just a block away from all the amenities of the hotel, but with the privacy of a villa, including two suites with outdoor terraces and tubs.

For total luxury, Nobu is set on the shore of Talamanca Bay – one the quieter beaches on the island. Rooms and suites are sleek and have been designed to blend in with the scenic settings – think rattan furniture, natural colours and light wooden furniture – and some have private pools overlooking the beach. There are two outdoor pools (waiters will bring jugs of sangria to your sun lounger) plus a spa for indulgent treatments, but the main draw is the food. Diners can eat at Nobu’s destination Japanese restaurant or BiBo by Michelin-starred Dani Garcia for Mediterranean dishes.

This relaxed restaurant in the small village of Sant Llorenç has long dinner tables surrounded by lemon groves, ideal for family meals in the sunshine. The family run restaurant serves simple Sicilian food and the menu rotates weekly – there’s always a new variation on risotto, pasta, seafood and steak on offer. Most of the produce comes from the family’s garden, and there’s different fresh bread every day.

Co-founded and created by Rainer Becker in London, Zuma is bringing its award-winning contemporary Japanese cuisine to the Balearics for a pop-up. On the rooftop of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, the Zuma sushi bar and open kitchen will take centre stage, with chefs cooking up signature dishes such as spicy beef tenderloin with sesame; black cod marinated in miso; tiger prawns with yuzu; and grilled seabass with chilli and ginger. Part of the restaurant will be a dedicated drinking space with a resident DJ.

Set in a Balinese hut on its own stretch of beach in Santa Eulalia, Amante Table is one of the most romantic spots on the island. Eat at the main restaurant or book the couple’s table under a pergola for a private dining experience by candlelight. Couples will be treated to a five-course Mediterranean menu showcasing the best produce of the day, paired with Bollinger champagne. Expect dishes like monkfish and prawn croquettes, squid ink risotto, and pork loin with potatoes and sautéed green beans.

El Chiringuito has a loyal clientele of diners who return each season to enjoy relaxed lunches on Es Cavallet beach. The menu changes regularly so there’s always something new to try – either from a day bed on the sand or in the shaded boho-inspired restaurant. Mediterranean dishes are designed to be shared, from seafood platters and whole grilled fish served at the table to tapas-style starters like smoked aubergine, calamari and tuna tartare. There’s also a separate menu for little ones.

Jul’s only opened a few years ago but has already established itself as one of Ibiza’s best fine dining restaurants. Choose from modern Greek dishes made with local and seasonal ingredients, like truffle risotto with lobster claws, grilled octopus and vegetables, smoked seafood with squid ink linguine, and lamb with herby potatoes.

Formentera is a 30-minute ferry or boat ride from Ibiza, making it an ideal spot for a day trip. If you don’t make it to Beso Beach Ibiza, head to its sister site on Formentera. The beach club is in Ses Salines natural park, a biological reserve surrounded by crystal-clear waters and a pristine beach. You can eat Catalan dishes in the restaurant until 6pm, then try Yango Urban Foods (a popular Spanish takeaway) on the beach.

El Silencio overlooks the secluded cove of Cala Moli, a hidden gem on the island. This year, guests can eat at the new restaurant by three-Michelin starred chef Mauro Colagreco, take part in wellness workshops, shop at pop-ups, and party on the beach. Mauro’s menu is inspired by his Argentinean heritage – imagine dishes like shrimp aguachile with lime and chilli, baked beetroots with manchego cheese, and grilled crayfish with gremolacha sauce. El Silencio has also opened a second pop-up restaurant for a series of rotating chefs who will each host a week-long residency – confirmed chefs include Yannick Alleno and Thibault Sombardier. Guest can also see an immersive art installation by Brazilian artist Samuel de Saboia, as well as a collaborative pop-up with Nanushka where you can shop its summer collections, take part in wellness activities and book special dinners.

In Ses Salines salt reserve, Experimental Beach Ibiza is the perfect spot for sundowner drinks and champagne with friends. Be wowed by the beautiful sunsets over the Med while soft house music and jazz plays in the background. The restaurant serves classic Spanish fare like tapas and simple seafood dishes, while the cocktail menu is, of course, more experimental.

Ibiza’s Old Town is lined with family run restaurants and cafés, but El Olivo Mio serves some of the best Mediterranean food. In true Spanish fashion, dinner is served late, but it’s worth getting there early to secure a colourful table outside on the cobbled street. Current menu highlights include burratina with tomatoes and homemade fig jam; seabass ceviche with mango and avocado; grilled scallops and fennel salad; and tagliatelle with clams. Don’t forget to order carafes of sangria for the table.

La Cava is part of Ibiza’s Mambo Group (Café Mambo, Sunset Strip) in Ibiza Town’s historic square. Inside, there are rattan lampshades and an open bar where you can watch the chefs at work, while the outdoor terrace is surrounded by cacti pots and has a cool boho vibe. Expect classic tapas dishes like patatas bravas, padrón peppers and Spanish omelettes, plus more experimental plates such as mini oxtail burgers and home-smoked salmon with burrata.

Pacha has opened a restaurant next door to its famous nightclub. El Restaurante serves modern Mediterranean dishes like lobster tempura, marinated scallops with basil, courgette carpaccio with parmiggiano, and Iberian pork sautéed with capers. Diners can listen to Balearic beats until the early hours as DJs play in a booth illuminated by Pacha’s iconic neon cherries. Cocktail wise, house signatures are tequila and mezcal-based, including margaritas and a ‘Tiki Punch’ made with Casamigos Mezcal, Aperol, pineapple juice and banana syrup. For a minimum spend you can skip the queue and head straight into the club after dinner.

7Pines hotel is built into the cliffs on the island’s Es Vedrà-facing edge. Its restaurant The View offers a suitably panoramic outlook onto the Med and regularly hosts celebrity chefs for kitchen takeovers. This summer, chef Andrés Fernández has created a menu with Nordic influences featuring dishes like turbot and caviar, cuttlefish and apple salad, and chocolate torte with pine nuts and chilli. Later in the summer, expect menus from other top chefs, plus the return of the hotel’s Mexican food truck.

Ibiza Gran Hotel has launched a series of foodie events to celebrate winning a Michelin star at the start of 2022. La Gaia’s win means it can now claim to be the only hotel on the island to achieve the accolade. Head chef Óscar Molina’s celebratory series will vary from high-end, full-day experiences to offering diners the chance to try new recipes and established favourites across two tasting menus. There’s also a cooking class, ‘Flavours of Ibiza with Chef Molina’, that focuses on cooking with local produce and the farm-to-table ingredients used at La Gaia.

A favourite of the SL team, you could easily spend a whole day at Beachouse relaxing by the water, listening to the DJs, and trying dishes at its Mediterranean restaurant. There’s also a great kids’ club where little ones are entertained with arts and crafts, yoga, face painting and games. Cotton Beach overlooks Cala Tarida on Ibiza's southwest coast, which is renowned for its sunsets. All the fabric is made from cotton – hence the name – and the restaurant has striking white interiors that reflect against the sea. Island Hospitality – the team behind Mayfair’s Park Chinois and Beachouse, Mikasa and Zuma in Ibiza – opens a new club tomorrow. Housed in the former Heart Ibiza site and inspired by Shanghai’s 1930s jazz clubs, Club Chinois has bold and lavish interiors with plush velvet seating, dark drapery and a huge DJ booth. This summer, guests will be able to dine at the neighbouring pop-up restaurant Zuma before heading into the club to listen to DJs on the decks until late.

Amnesia first opened its doors back in the 1970s and is still one of the island’s best clubs. The main room plays techno all night, while the room next door has a cool atrium window so you can see the daylight seeping in at 6am. This season, Sonny Fodera and Gorgon City have a residency on Mondays, Steve Aoki will take to the deck on Tuesdays, and the weekend slots will be filled by Amnesia’s regular nights Elrow and Pyramid.

Located on a beachfront in Santa Eulària, Nikki Beach was made for relaxed partying in the sun with friends. Ideal for a girls' trip, book a day bed or table around the pool to soak up the chilled atmosphere and party with the resident DJ, saxophonist and bongo player. Order drinks like spicy frozen margaritas and champagne to your table, and dine under the shaded restaurant to enjoy sushi and dishes from the raw bar, plus seafood, pasta and sharing salads.

Destino at Pacha is perched on a cliff in the stylish Cap Martinet area. Parties take place around the pool surrounded by day beds and palm trees, then move to its underground nightclub Tox Prive Club at midnight. Confirmed acts playing this summer include Solomun, Marco Carola and Ben Gold.

Once an underground nightclub, DC10 has earned a reputation for being a place for hardcore partygoers. Close to Ses Salines salt flats and Ibiza airport, it’s now split into three spaces: a garden for day parties, the main room for late-night sets, and the terrace. It doesn’t advertise events publicly, but it regularly attracts big DJs like Honey Dijon, Carl Cox and Dennis Cruz.

Ushuaïa’s sister property Hï Ibiza takes immersive clubbing to the next level with world-class light shows and installations. Set along Playa d’en Bossa’s strip, there are two main spaces: the Club Room for late-night residencies and The Theatre for big productions. As well as house, techno and dance music, Hï Ibiza showcases talent from reggaeton and tribal house. This summer, David Guetta, Arielle Free, the Martinez Brothers and Glitterbox will all take to the decks.

A favourite of the fashion set and mega-celebs over the decades (picture Kate Moss, Freddie Mercury and George Michael) Pikes is one of the oldest and most famous Ibizan institutions. While the hotel offers wellness retreats for those seeking some R&R, its party side continues to draw in the crowds. There’s a small nightclub with connecting rooms which hosts international DJs, plus a spacious outdoor terrace for dancing and drinks. This summer, big-name acts taking to the stage include Faithless, Fatboy Slim and Goldie.
