Covering music, film, social media, politics, geography and pop culture, you’ll be asked a series of questions to challenge your knowledge of Black British history. London’s only Michelin-starred pub has a new head chef. Jake Leach has joined the Harwood Arms. If you’ve already tried the scotch eggs and Sunday roasts there, you know to believe the hype. To celebrate his arrival, Leach has created some bar snacks, including slices of rich beef tongue on dripping toast with celeriac; and oyster schnitzels. He’s also put together a new main course of Iberico pork with carrots, girolles and oats. Reaffirming the Harwood’s love for game, there’s also a venison pâté en croûte and slow-cooked fallow deer shoulder on the menu. We can’t think of a better place to settle into on a Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday 16th October, fitness collective SWEAT.LDN is hosting an all-day fitness event at Ministry of Sound London. From 11.30am to 8pm there are a range of classes, workshops and live talks to get stuck into, as well as five 45-minute workouts led by industry pros, including PMAC fitness which trains the likes of actor Reggie Yates and singer Marvin Humes. Six top DJs will set the tempo with high-energy mixes, while lunch and post-workout protein shakes will be provided by Fresh Fitness Food and Huel. Banksy's former agent Steve Lazarides has opened a store and exhibition space in Soho. Laz Emporium, which started as an online shop last year, sells a range of eclectic artwork by the likes of Jonathan Yeo, Jake Chapman, Charming Baker and Jamie Hewlett (co-creator with Damon Albarn of Gorillaz). Visitors can also browse homeware, furniture, collectibles and books, including a collection of Lazarides’ photographs of Banksy creating his iconic graffiti. Expect monthly exhibitions too – right now, the work of Scottish design studio War Boutique is on display.

For great steak at an affordable price point, Flat Iron always fits the bill. The steakhouse has opened a slick new branch on Clink Street, next door to the notorious old Clink Prison near Borough Market. Alongside the restaurant’s signature £12 steak, there’s a newbie on the menu: the seriously meaty smoked short rib chilli cheeseburger. Order with some sides – we recommend the beef dripping chips, creamed spinach and roast cauliflower – and wash it down with a negroni, old fashioned, or a couple of craft beers.

Tomorrow, the Natural History Museum opens its Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It features the top 100 submissions among thousands of entries – many focus on the climate crisis and how global warming is affecting the natural world. Look out, in particular, for Robert Irwin’s drone image of Australia’s raging bushfires which has already won the People’s Choice Award. Other top entries include a striking image of a bloody lion feasting on a wildebeest. Ticket start from £15.50.

Louche is the new late-night drinking den on Greek Street to know about. Created by the same team behind Records Bars, the three-storey venue will host regular live-music nights across two stages in its atmospheric bar, decorated with photos of Soho legends like jazz musician Horace Silver and club owner Madame Louise.
