Indie musician Tom Misch has teamed up with experimental artist and drummer Yussef Dayes on What Kinda Music, which drops this Friday. WATCH SOMETHING NEW: GANGS OF LONDON

Back in 2011, Welsh director Gareth Evans turned an Indonesian martial arts film into a worldwide success. He followed up The Raid with a similarly excellent sequel and has now turned to the small screen. Gangs of London promises exactly what it says on the tin: the capital’s most powerful criminal is dead and there’s a power vacuum to be filled. With Evans at the helm, expect something more artful, nuanced and original than just another story about geezers and their shooters. The first series has just landed in full on Sky/Now TV.

READ THE NEXT BESTSELLER: IF IT BLEEDS

Stephen King’s If It Bleeds is out this week and all set to fly off virtual shelves. Suspenseful and chilling, it comprises four stories, including the sequel to King’s number-one bestseller The Outsider. A fascinating Author’s Note gives readers an insight into the backstory of each tale. King is, of course, unrivalled as a teller of horror stories with a psychological twist, so you’d best pre-order this one now.

REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES: BEASTIE BOYS STORY

Arriving on Apple TV this Friday, Beastie Boys Story is a Spike Jonze documentary built around a live stage show that surviving members Ad-Rock and Mike D did in tribute to their fallen brother, MCA (Adam Yauch). Featuring lots of remarkable band footage, the story moves through their early success in the 80s, to going broke – in some style – in LA, then clawing their way back to the big time with some remarkable experimental music that not everyone thought they were capable of. This is your best reason yet to try Apple TV.

Tim Vasilakis, founder of the eight-strong restaurant chain, pops up on its Instagram page every Saturday evening to show followers how to master some of the most popular dishes from its menus. He’s already covered tomato croquettes and courgette fritters, as well as Greek staples such as a spicy feta dip and tzatziki.
