TRY A GREAT HOT DOG

Bangers

Fancy a great hot dog and a couple of beers? Bangers has just started a two-month residency at The Prince in West Brompton. Using quality ingredients – and cutting out the nasty bits that too often get thrown into the mix – the team use sustainably sourced meat, fish and plant-based produce to make seriously good sausages. Choose from pork sausages with caramelised onion jam, battered cod goujons with pea purée, and steak and cheese sausages with chimichurri sauce. Not enough? Add on a side of fries or a scotch egg.

DITCH THE PAPERS FOR THIS

Nighthawking By Russ Thomas

Russ Thomas’s second instalment of his Adam Tyler crime series hit the shelves last week. It’s business as normal at Sheffield's Botanical Gardens – until the body of a young woman is found buried in a quiet corner. Police determine she's been there for months and would have gone undiscovered for years, except someone returned in the dead of night to dig her up. DS Tyler’s investigation draws him into the secretive world of nighthawkers: treasure-hunters who go to unimaginable lengths to look for the lost and valuable…

MEET YOUR MATES

Pinbowlz

Pinbowlz is a new gaming bar in Hackney where groups of up to four can play life-sized pinball. The game is simple, but addictive. There are two courses each with four lanes to get the balls into the baskets. Instead of the usual spring-loaded plunger, you have to use your own arm to launch each ball up the lane. Each lane takes about ten minutes to play, and you have 40 minutes to complete the course. Settle the scores over a couple of beers at the bar, or just help yourself to the free pick ’n’ mix.

WATCH THIS NEW DOC

The Beatles: Get Back, Disney+

Three-time Oscar winner Peter Jackson was given exclusive access to over 60 hours of never-seen-before footage of The Beatles, and he’s turned it into an electrifying docuseries. The Beatles: Get Back takes audiences back in time to the band’s January 1969 recording sessions as they attempt to write 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Made entirely from restored footage, the film is an intimate glimpse into the creative processes and relationships between John, Paul, George and Ringo. It also features the band’s last live performance as a group at their rooftop concert on Savile Row. A must for any music fan.
