TAKE THE KIDS

Hampton Court Palace Of Stardust

If you’re after an outdoor activity to keep the kids entertained over the holidays, Hampton Court Palace has opened a light trail around its historic grounds. The cobbled courtyards and gardens are filled with illuminations inspired by the palace’s famous astronomical clock – the ticking Tudor heart of Hampton Court installed by command of King Henry VIII. Expect illuminations, glowing lanterns and impressive projections hidden around the grounds. Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £8 for kids.

Until Monday 3rd January; Hampton Court Way, East Molesey, KT8 9AU

ESCAPE TO THE CINEMA

The Matrix Ressurrections

Keanu Reeves is back on the big screen. More than 20 years after The Matrix, Neo (Reeves) is living a normal life in San Francisco under his original identity as Thomas A. Anderson. He still has strange and unnatural visions, but a therapist is taking care of that now. When Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) – or someone who looks just like her – comes onto the scene, neither recognise each other. However, when a new pill opens Neo’s mind to the world of the Matrix again, he’s tempted to join a group of rebels to fight a dangerous new state in control.

Out on Wednesday 22nd December

FILL YOUR BOOTS

Four Corners At Rondo La Cave

Detroit-style pizzeria Four Corners has opened a pop-up at wine bar Rondo La Cave in The Hoxton, Holborn. Available until February, the deep-pan pizza menu has been created by – wait for it – ‘pizza consultant’ Anthony Falco, who knows a thing or two about the perfect slice. Menu highlights include the ‘Vodka Meatball’ featuring cheddar, mozzarella, vodka sauce and meatballs; the ‘Smoked Entrecote’ with roasted onions, paprika and pomegranate molasses; and the ‘Pistachio Pesto & Mortadella’ pizza. Add on a side of ‘Grandma’s Meatballs’ or a house salad, and wash it down with a bottle of Rondo’s low-intervention wine, or a couple of craft beers.
