FEAST ON THIS

Susuru at Dinings SW3

Japanese chef Masaki Sugisaki created a buzz when he released an at-home udon noodle kit in lockdown. Now, diners can tuck into that same dish at his Chelsea restaurant, Dinings SW3. Available until the end of the month, grab a seat at the bar to enjoy a warming bowl of susuru (literally ‘slurp’ in Japanese) made with tan tan noodles, Cornish red chicken and a creamy tahini broth. Finish yours with Masaki’s special chilli sauce, and add other bar snacks like Japanese fried chicken or wagyu beef crostinis. Trust us when we say it’s seriously good.

GET YOUR CULTURE FIX

Dom – The Play

After a sell-out run at The White Bear theatre, Dom – The Play transfers to the West End’s The Other Palace, just a stone’s throw from where the real-life drama occurred. Based on the turbulent career of Dominic Cummings, the play dramatises the events leading up to the UK’s first lockdown and that fateful drive to Barnard Castle. It also covers Cumming’s list of confessions after resigning as chief adviser to former PM Boris Johnson, what Boris really thinks of Liz Truss, how Dom himself dealt with “interfering Carrie”, and the details of his sacking in November 2020. Tickets start from £20.

TUCK INTO A GREAT STEAK

Wagyu Specials at Flat Iron

Regular SLMan readers will know we rate Flat Iron for its affordable steak dinners, so we were pleased to hear the team has created a limited-edition menu of wagyu steaks. At all its restaurants until Sunday 5th March, diners can tuck into buttery skirt, bavette, hangar or flank wagyu steaks sourced from Warrendale Wagyu in Yorkshire. Add on sides like beef dripping chips, bone marrow garlic mash or truffle mac ‘n’ cheese, then wash it down with a beer or old fashioned.

Four knives will cost a fiver – though anyone with some Sheffield cutlery knocking about in their kitchen drawers will be able to exchange a set for free.
