City Bouldering has just opened an outpost at Westfield Stratford City. The climbing venue has five walls with over 100 different routes for all abilities. There’s also a ‘fun wall’ if you want to take the kids, plus an escape room for groups or parties. First timers can book an hour’s intro session to learn the basics and find out how to make the most out of the workout, while intermediates should go for an improver session to race against the clock. Hoppers x Two Tribes Terrace
Sri Lankan restaurant Hoppers has opened a terrace at its King’s Cross site with London brewery Two Tribes. The space has tropical palm trees, two outdoor bars, a snack menu and will host regular DJ events over the summer. There’s also an exclusive Hoppers x Two Tribes IPA brewed with pandan leaves, curry leaves and coriander seeds. Order your beer alongside small plates like devilled paneer, spicy chicken bites, mutton rolls with Lankan ketchup, and hot butter squid. If you go for a cocktail, order the ‘Sunset Squeeze’ made with Kumquat gin, ginger and tonic.

WATCH A WACKY RACE
Red Bull Soapbox
On Sunday 3rd July, Red Bull hosts its annual Soapbox race at Alexandra Palace. Spectators can watch amateur drivers race along the track in quirky cars they’ve designed themselves – think life-sized Lego cars, giant chickens and Mario karts. Look out for ‘Lads Up Norf’ who’ve created a car decorated with booze and cheese. Before the race, order craft beers, hot dogs and burgers from the food and drinks stalls. Tickets cost £29.99.

Camden Town Brewery Tank Party Tour
Camden Brewery kicks off a nationwide party tour this weekend. Each week, the brewery will serve 23,000 pints of fresh lager alongside street food and entertainment at venues across the UK. From Friday 1st to Saturday 2nd July, it’s heading to Leeds Corn Exchange, before visiting Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and London (3rd-4th September) in the coming weeks. Get the pints in then try dishes from street food kingpins Voodoo Ray’s and Madre Tacos – there’s even a Sunday roast menu.

Hot 4 U, Haggerston
Hot 4 U has just finished a residency at The Prince Arthur in Shoreditch. Now it’s opened a pop-up down the road in Haggerston on Thursdays to Sundays. The new menu features BBQ peas and salted duck egg, chicken liver with skin and soldiers, potatoes and cod’s roe, and koji-fried chicken. You can also order oysters topped with anything from strawberry vinegar or barbecued chillis. Each weekend a DJ sets the vibe with house and disco tunes, and there’s a different ice-cream to choose from on Sundays.
