TaskRabbit means you no longer have to rely on word of mouth to find a handyman. It connects you to a network of skilled ‘taskers’, from which you can choose based on prices and reviews. It’s a bit like Tripadvisor but for odd jobs. Whether you need your house cleaned, a shelf putting up or random repairs doing, sit back, relax and let someone else do the hard work.

For Convenient Car Hire: Ubeeqo

A nifty little app that allows you to hire vehicles in your local area by the hour. All you have to do is register, enter your details and you’re ready to go. Drop off and pick up is at the same location, but with hundreds of vehicles in London you are never too far from a Ubeeqo car dock. No keys are necessary as you unlock the car with your phone and you can chat with customer service over instant messenger – eliminating any phone-hold queues. The base price for hiring a small vehicle is an hourly rate of £4.50, with a van starting at £10 per hour. Benefits include 30 miles of free fuel and you are covered for London’s Congestion Charge and Dart Charge.

Currently operating within Greater London only, Qured provides a direct link to a doctor, so you can receive instant medical advice as well as prescriptions. If your ailment is sports related, it offers muscular rehabilitation services from a team of fully qualified physios. Appointments are accessible within two hours and start at £90.

For Queue Jumping: WalkIn

 Skip those long restaurant queues and let WalkIn do the waiting for you. No time for an arduous wait outside in the cold? This app adds you to the queue and lets you know when your table is ready. Following confirmation that your app booking has been received, you have ten minutes to claim your table. Pizza Pilgrims, Flat Iron and Padella can all be accessed in this way and there are plans to extend the service across London.
