The Proofing Room
The Proofing Room is a new cocktail delivery service from the team behind Milroy's of Soho. An imaginative menu offers ready-to-drink cocktails for free same-day, no-contact delivery in east London and the City, or across the UK within 48 hours. Customers can choose one of the bar’s signature serves for two or more, or keep it classic with a bottle of Hayman’s gin and the mixer of your choice. Keep an eye out for ‘Tastings at Home’, which offer whisky sampling for all levels accompanied by a live virtual tasting with one of the Milroy’s whisky experts.
USP: A great choice for whisky fans.
Halo is a new drinks initiative that sees customers choose from classics such as a ‘Tommy’s Margarita’ or sip on summery new creations such as the ‘Rosé’ – a delicate mix of Provencal rosé, rum, rose liqueur, Cointreau, Pama pomegranate liqueur, rhubarb bitters and lemon. Every week, the team prepares, bottles and delivers cocktails across the nation. The team have done all the shaking and muddling for you, so all you have to do is chill, pour and serve.
USP: £1 from every bottle goes to Age UK.
SendANegroni.com is a new personalised delivery service from the team behind Porter’s Gin. It does what it says, helping you send a negroni anywhere in the UK. The pre-batched cocktails are sent in individual serving sizes with the option of including a message. Priced at £10 – which includes delivery – customers have a choice of ‘The Classic One’ using Porter’s Modern Classic gin or ‘The Tropical One’ using Porter’s Tropical Old Tom. The cocktails use Campari bitter and Baldoria Rosso, a new boutique vermouth from the award-winning team behind Little Red Door in Paris. Vacuum-packed at the Porter’s Gin micro-distillery in Aberdeen, they arrive prediluted and ready to pour over ice.
USP: Great for last-minute presents.
Wine and beer emporium Rebellious Goods is currently selling Astley Bros’ limited-edition premixed rhubarb negroni. A 1lt pouch blending Estate vermouth, Campari, Dispense amaro and rhubarb gin, the vessel just needs to be placed in the freezer one hour before serving. After something a little more unusual? Empirical Spirits – a distillery in Copenhagen – has brought out two canned cocktails. Can 01 leads with the acidity of gooseberry coupled with the smooth notes of milk oolong tea and the mild sweetness of toasted birch. Can 02 offers notes of walnut, zesty sour cherry, aromatic blackcurrant buds and lemony maqaw pepper. Sour and delicious.
USP: Portable and unusual.
Cocktail Porter kits have everything you need to make original drinks at home – including fresh fruit from London supplier Nature’s Choice. Having launched in 2018, Cocktail Porter now delivers more than 500 cocktail boxes a month in its native Australia. Finally available in the UK, we like the look of the whisky highball collection, which comes with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky, Belvoir Farms ginger, lemon and mint, and elderflower cordials, Double Dutch soda water, dehydrated lemons and candied ginger to garnish. Each cocktail is available in The Petite Kit (£45, six serves) and The Porter Kit (£85, 17-20 serves) and, if ordered by 3pm, will be delivered the next day.
USP: Good value for money.
