Passo To Go

Shoreditch-based Passo specialises in rustic, authentic Italian food. To give you a taste of la dolce vita in the midst of a pandemic, the restaurant has launched a delivery service. Passo To Go delivers make-your-own pizza kits, fresh pasta and sauce duos, and drinks, nationwide – with next-day delivery available. The pizza kits include everything you need to make two or four sourdough pizzas. We really rate the spiced salami option, which comes with three-day fermented dough made with Italian flour, two portions of spicy Schiacciata salami, tomato sauce with garlic and olive oil, grated mozzarella and sliced roasted red onions and jalapenos.

Pizza Pilgrims

Pizza Pilgrims launched Pizza In The Post early into the first lockdown, introducing the UK to the frying-pan pizza method. Focusing on Neapolitan pizza, these kits assemble the same ingredients used in the group’s much-loved restaurant pizzas. From the topping selection, we’d order mushroom and truffle or double pepperoni and spicy honey. Want to take things up a notch? The founders have just published a book all about making the best pizza at home, which covers everything from making your own dough to choosing toppings.

Japes

Soho deep-dish pizza brand Japes now offers nationwide delivery kits for its popular pepperoni or veggie pizzas. Each kit comes with at least two pizzas and includes the aluminium foil tins to cook them in, plus all the cheese and toppings you’ll need. Each pizza pie takes moments to assemble and about 15 minutes to cook in a hot oven. There are various choices: the Chicago pizza (available to buy in multiples of two, three or four pizzas) comes with dough, mozzarella, tomato sauce, pepperoni, parmesan and polenta; while the Veggie pizza (available as two or three pizzas) comes with dough, mozzarella, tomato sauce, spinach, halloumi and polenta.

Dough-Re-Me

Manchester’s Dough-Re-Me created a nationwide delivery service in response to its founders’ frustration at ordering Neapolitan-style pizzas that were cold, tough and rubbery by the time they arrived. Its frying pan kits turn out pizzas with a stone-baked taste and light, bubbly crust in under five minutes. All kits come with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, 48-hour double-fermented caputo flour dough balls, parmigiano cheese, organic basil, Italian extra virgin olive oil, Maldon salt and freshly crushed black peppercorns, and come in a variety of sizes.

Lina Stores

For £32, pizza fans can buy an at-home set from Italian deli Lina Stores. The three kits contain four par-cooked, hand-rolled 12” pizza bases, homemade tomato sauce and two balls of mozzarella, plus a choice of black cerignola olives, Apulian artichokes, semi-dried tomatoes, parma ham, Apulian turnip greens and fresh basil; cime di rapa, black bella di cerignola olives and parma ham; or a veggie option of artichoke, semi-dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Make a real meal of it by adding some antipasti to your order – we like the sound of a selection of coppa, speck and truffled salami.

Homeslice Take & Bake

Hip pizza chain Homeslice has made it simple for fans to enjoy its signature dishes. Its Take & Bake service delivers part-baked 12” versions of their famous slices and 20” pizzas. Customers just have to pop them in their oven to finish them – or freeze for an easy midweek dinner. The team has also developed a collection of five sauces for fans to add a hit of flavour to their home cooking. The tomato sauce used on all of its pizzas will be a welcome addition to any store cupboard, but we’re most excited by the launches of its jalapeno salsa, truffle creme fraiche, soy truffle glaze and signature chilli oil. New for February is a collaboration with Camden Town Brewery, which means you can order two pizzas and six beers for £29.50.
