How To Style A Black Polo Neck
DON’T go too tight. A slightly relaxed fit is key to looking grown-up – we highly recommend M&S’s cashmere or merino styles for the perfect amount of slouch.
DO stick to good fabrics. Blends will look cheap and with so many high-street names creating good stuff, there’s no excuse not to shop wool instead.
DO make sure the neck is long enough. A short little funnel neck just won’t cut it – better to have to roll down a long style.
DON’T pair the look with anything too pale. Inevitably your rollneck will be a darker shade (and if it isn’t, you should address that) so stay classy by adding only blacks, navys and khakis.
DON’T add fussy separates. The polo neck is a refined classic, and it should be treated as such – forget busy prints, colours or too many layers. Keeping it simple is key.
