Excitement for a hot, sunny and relatively social summer is building, so now’s a great time to share my summer essentials. And what better way to kick off a new season than with an exciting collaboration?
Ottaway Style x Benson & Clegg is a made-to-order capsule collection with a contemporary take on the classics. Inspired by the timeless elegance of style icons from yesteryear, but designed for the modern man, it celebrates the luxury and elegance of the 1960s on the Italian and French Riviera. This was a time and place where men and women looked effortlessly glamorous, whether having a poolside espresso at Hotel Du Cap or sipping aperitivi on the Amalfi Coast. Visions of Gianni Agnelli and Jackie and Aristotle Onassis relaxing in Italy set the perfect tone.
This summer feels like an opportunity for today’s man to park the loungewear and be inspired by an era when gents used just a handful of relaxed staples to look good. The collection consists of eight pieces, from camp collar shirts and knitted polos to a very sharp unstructured double-breasted two-piece suit made in a lightweight grey cotton-linen. Two styles of overshirts – in a khaki Irish linen and a white seersucker – are the standout hero pieces. Each garment respects the heritage of Benson & Clegg but delivers a relaxed and contemporary feel for the modern man to create the perfect summer capsule wardrobe.
