If you’re desperate to book a holiday thankfully there are now plenty of places we’re allowed to visit again. But with restrictions still in place in many destinations, it’s essential to know where it’s possible to go and what you have to do once you get there. If you live in England (rules vary in different parts of the UK), these are the countries with open travel corridors right now…

TROPICAL & WINTER SUN DESTINATIONS

Cambodia

Current Info: To enter Cambodia, you must present a visa, and a medical certificate obtained no longer than 72 hours prior to your date of travel, from a health authority to show you do not have Covid-19. UK travellers will need to arrange for a private test (not via the NHS). You must also have proof of adequate travel insurance for medical cover. 

Flight Time: 14 hours 20 minutes from London to Phnom Pehn International. 

 

Cuba

Current Info: Tourists arriving into Cuba will have to take a PCR Covid-19 test upon arrival. If you test positive, you will be required to self-isolate until you can provide a negative test.

Flight Time: A direct flight takes ten hours from London to Havana or Varadero Airport.

 

Dominica

Current Info: Arriving passengers must complete an online questionnaire 24 hours before arrival and have a PCR swab test with a negative result taken up to 72 hours before arrival. At the airport, a Rapid Diagnostic Test for Covid-19 will be taken – you will have to isolate if the test is positive. 

Flight Time: 15 hours from London to Douglas Charles Airport, including one connecting flight.

Current Info: Upon reaching Grenada, you must provide a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of travel. You will also need to download Grenada’s contact tracing app and take another test at the airport. 

Flight Time: 13 hours 20 minutes from London to Maurice Bishop International Airport, including one connecting flight.  

 

Maldives

Current Info: UK travellers will have to present a negative PCR test for Covid-19 on arrival to the Maldives. The test and negative PCR certificate must be issued no more than 96 hours prior to departure. At the airport, screening procedures are in place for passengers, with quarantine facilities set up to isolate any suspected cases of Covid-19.

Flight Time: The flight from London to Malé International is around 13 hours, including one connecting flight.

 

Namibia

Current Info: To enter Namibia, you must present a negative Covid-19 test, taken within 72 days prior to your date of travel. If the negative result is over the 72 hours, but less than seven days, you will need to quarantine for a week in an approved tourist facility.

Flight Time: A direct flight from London to Hosea Kutako International Airport takes just over ten hours. 

 

Seychelles

Current Info: Upon arrival in the Seychelles, you must present a negative Covid-19 test taken no more than 48 hours before your departure date. From there, you must stay in your hotel for the first five days and provide another negative test on the fifth day.

Flight Time: A direct flight from London to Victoria-Seychelles Airport takes ten hours.

St Lucia

Current Info: All travellers must complete a Pre-Arrival registration form prior to arrival to St Lucia. You must provide proof that your designated accommodation is a ‘Covid-19 certified property’ before travel, as well as providing a negative test upon arrival. UK travellers will need to arrange for a private test (not via the NHS).

Flight Time: A direct flight from London to Hewanorra International Airport takes around nine hours.

 

Turks & Caicos

Current Info: To enter the Turks and Caicos Islands, you must get pre-travel authorisation via the Turks and Caicos Islands Assured Portal. This requires evidence of a negative Covid-19 test from a reputable facility taken within five days prior to arrival, proof of health and travel insurance and a completed health screening questionnaire. 

Flight Time: 12 hours from London to Providenciales International Airport, with a connecting flight in Antigua. 

United Arab Emirates (Including Dubai)

Current Info: If you’re travelling to Dubai, you must either present a negative PCR test before departure, which is valid for 96 hours from the date of the test, or take a test on arrival at Dubai airport. Travellers to the rest of the UAE must have carried out a test within 96 hours and received a negative result prior to their departure.

Flight Time: A direct flight from London to Dubai International is just over seven hours. 

FAIR WEATHER DESTINATIONS

Bermuda

Current Info: To enter Bermuda, you will need to apply for travel authorisation and take a pre-departure Covid-19 test. UK travellers will need to arrange for a private test (not via the NHS).

Flight Time: 16 hours from London to L.F. Wade International Airport, including one connecting flight. 

 

Canary Islands (Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Palma, Tenerife and La Gomera)

Current Info: Upon arrival to the Canary Islands, UK travellers will be subject to temperature and visual health checks and must provide officials with contact information and any history of exposure to Covid-19 48 hours prior to travel. You will also need to provide a negative Covid-19 test when checking in to your accommodation. 

Flight Time: Around four hours, depending on which island you are travelling to.

Gibraltar

Current Info: You must complete an online contact tracing passenger locator form and inform the authorities if you have been in another country in the 14 days before arriving in Gibraltar. If you are arriving on a flight at Gibraltar International Airport, you will need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form online before you can pass through customs. 

Flight Time: 2 hours 50 minutes from London to Gibraltar International Airport.

 

Greek Islands (Crete, Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Zakynthos)

Current Info: While mainland Greece is not on the travel corridor list for England, you can still visit the Greek Islands. You must provide evidence of a negative result from a PCR test for Covid-19 that has been conducted within 72 hours of your arrival, as well as a Passenger Locator Form completed at least 24 hours beforehand.

Flight Time: Around four hours from London, depending which island you visit.

Madeira

Current Info: Although Portugal is not on the travel corridor list for England, you can still visit the autonomous region of Madeira. You must take a Covid-19 test before you travel or on arrival. 

Flight Time: Around four hours from London to Madeira Airport. 

 

Rwanda

Current Info: All arrivals must present a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 120 hours of departure. You will then be required to quarantine at a designated hotel for 24 hours whilst awaiting results of a second test.

Flight Time: 11 hours from London to Kigali International Airport, including one connecting flight.

WINTER HOLIDAYS

Iceland

Current Info: Anyone flying into Iceland must either pay for a Covid-19 test, or self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. 

Flight Time: 3 hours from London to Keflavík International Airport.
