Carousel has opened a new site on Charlotte Street after seven years in Marylebone. Created by brothers Ollie and Ed Templeton, the restaurant operates a rotating chef concept where different chefs take over the kitchen for a week- or two-week residency to create new dishes and drinks. Set over three townhouses, the new space also features Carousel’s first wine bar on the ground floor with over 80 low-intervention wines to choose from, plus a spacious private dining room for up to 30 guests. In terms of food, the all-day bar menu includes small plates like beef tartare toast, tempura maitake with mushroom broth, confit pumpkin and burrata, and chocolate mousse with caramel and olive oil. Behind the wine bar, there’s a more formal dining space for chef residencies – Indian restaurant Goila is currently serving its signature butter chicken alongside butter paneer, fried chicken burgers and spiced dal, while Stockholm’s Sushi Sho will take over the kitchen for a week on Tuesday 30th November.
