THE REBOOT: The Paper

This could go one of two ways: it will either be genius – or the worst sequel since SATC spin-off And Just Like That… Based in the same world of The OfficeThe Paper sees the documentary crew that immortalised Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch discover a disappearing Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters. Much like The Office, the mockumentary follows the daily lives and struggles of dreamers in love with journalism, and their less-than-competent co-workers, trying to deliver accurate news without the resources or training to do a great job. Starring Domhnall Gleeson, Tim Key, Sabrina Impacciatore and Oscar Nuñez – who looks to be reprising his role as beleaguered office employee Oscar.

THE FILM: Honey, Don’t

We were drawn in by the 70s-retro stylings of the Honey, Don’t film poster. Written and directed by Ethan Coen, this is an American neo-noir dark comedy detective film starring Margaret Qualley (The SubstanceOnce Upon A Time In Hollywood) and Audrey Plaza (The White Lotus) – with Chris Evans, Charlie Day and Don Swayze also making appearances. At a runtime of just under 90 minutes, this is a taut, pacy crime caper.

THE AWARD-WINNER: One Battle After Another

We’ll watch anything Paul Thomas Anderson directs and his latest film – One Battle After Another – is even more enticing as it stars Leonardo DiCaprio. Throw in Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro, who also star, alongside Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris and Alana Haim, and you can consider us locked in. As usual with PTA’s films, the pre-release plot is mysterious. What we do know is that the film follows a former member of a revolutionary group who seeks help from other revolutionaries to find his missing daughter.
