THE TRAVEL INSPO

Belmond ‘Long Shots’

Luxury travel company Belmond has launched a film series calling 'Long Shots'. Embracing the 'slow TV' phenomenon, its 60-minute films are designed for passive viewing and active daydreaming, capturing the sights and sounds of Belmond destinations around the world – including Portofino, Rio de Janeiro, Scotland, Sardinia, Amalfi and Burgundy – in exquisite detail. The films are best enjoyed on a large screen with the volume turned up, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serenity of each destination (this is no time for double screening).

THE SCENT

Acqua Di Parma Colonia Il Profumo

This month sees Acqua di Parma unleash Colonia Il Profumo, a modern and intensified interpretation of the perfume house’s first ever fragrance, the iconic Colonia. More than a century after the launch of the original, the new scent captures the sun-warmed vibrancy of Italy, with a heightened concentration and the addition of ylang-ylang. The fresh fragrance is accompanied by a handful of lifestyle objects. The Colonia Portami Trunk is lined with yellow lambskin, holds three 180ml fragrances and features contrasting stitching, button pod details, and retractable handle loops. We also like the cherry wood Colonia Posami Perfume Tray with yellow accents.

THE DRINK

Bero

Actor Tom Holland’s premium non-alcoholic beer brand Bero has just launched in the UK. Already a hit in the States, Bero’s premium beer was inspired by Holland’s own path to sobriety and is designed for those who seek a more balanced lifestyle without compromising taste or quality. The result is three varieties (Golden Pils, Hazy IPA and Wheat) that should hit the spot long after Dry January ends. We popped along to the UK launch at It’s Bagels! last week and, while Holland himself wasn’t there, can confirm Bero works excellently with a bagel.

THE CAMPAIGN

Gillette

You don’t need us to tell you that football shirts are hot right now (if you do, read this). Off the back of Gillette’s immensely hummable ‘The Best a Man Can Get’ ditty becoming an unofficial anthem across 2024’s summer of football, the razor brand has released a limited-edition football jersey with Art of Football. The footie top draws on late 80s nostalgia in a nod to the track’s 1989 origins. The campaign has been supported by the artist behind the 2023 edition of the track – Tom Grennan – plus Gillette’s long-term charity partner Football Beyond Borders, who will receive 100% of the profits from the sale of the jersey.

THE COLLECTION

Dunhill AW25

Last week saw Dunhill launch its third collection under creative director Simon Holloway. For AW25, Holloway has zoomed in on the athleticism within the English drape suit, which was introduced in the 1930s by London tailor Frederick Scholte and made iconic by the Duke of Windsor. The blade-cut silhouette, with its natural sporting shoulder, features throughout the collection. Nodding to the importance of informal formality, Holloway’s refined coats, blazers and outerwear are layered with substantial sweaters knitted in heritage stitches, subtly patterned shirts and haberdashery.

THE CAMPAIGN

Paul Smith AW25

Paul Smith’s dad was an amateur photographer and the designer himself has long drawn inspiration from the world of still images. In the lead up to his recent Paris fashion week show, he teased his brand’s latest collection through a series of Instagram posts celebrating film photography, while his Paris HQ hosted a series of experiential installations exploring the various stages of the photography process. Pieces in the collection itself have been informed by the personal style of some of the 20th century’s greatest snappers.
