The SLMan Hot List: July
The SLMan Hot List gives you all the inspiration, recommendations and ideas you need for the month ahead. From a striking car collab to the slickest coffee machine we’ve seen yet, here are the coolest things to check out in July…
THE CAPSULE
CDLP x Passalacqua
Premium Swedish undies brand CDLP has teamed up with Italian hotel Passalacqua for a one-off collection. One of the world’s most prestigious hotels, right on the shores of Lake Como, Passalacqua injects a bit of la dolce vita into this collection of resortwear essentials, featuring breezy pool sets, tailored swimwear, relaxed T-shirts and a hand-illustrated silk scarf crafted in Como. The latter is a favourite, with its hand-painted print depicting the hotel and its surrounds in wearable blues and browns.

THE CAR
Wood & Pickett Mini by Callum
July brings the launch of a collaboration between the automotive design and engineering house Callum and renowned bespoke car specialist Wood and Pickett. The Wood and Pickett Mini by Callum redefines a classic piece of British design. Built on a fully restored Mk5 Sportspack body shell, it incorporates an entirely bespoke design package (custom interior, exterior and finish) that draws on Wood and Pickett’s coachbuilding legacy. The first of these models has been imagined by style guru and car lover David Gandy. For his design, Gandy referred to one of his own heroes – Steve McQueen – whose Mini inspired the bronze exterior detailing.

THE CAMPAIGN
Brunello Cucinelli Presents High Summer
Brunello Cucinelli’s seasonal campaign describes itself as a “delicate nostalgia for a summer that seems never-ending”. The men’s collection looks to the world of sailing, capturing the refined energy of life on and off the boat. The casual sophistication of the Mediterranean lifestyle shines through in pieces that balance contemporary with traditional. Case in point: the diagonal deconstructed blazer, which mirrors a classic naval jacket, complete with gold buttons, and a particularly covetable water-resistant canvas and buffalo leather drawstring backpack.
THE GADGET
Café Leon Dore X La Marzocco Linea Micra
Aimé Leon Dore is no stranger to a cool collab, but we think this one might be its best yet. The latest addition to its Café Leon Dore line is this compact, easy-to-use home espresso machine, which delivers the high level of performance you’d expect from the La Marzocco name. Designed as a scaled-down version of the Linea Classic S, the Linea Micra has a small body that works in most home kitchens. Offering easy setup, a quick heat-up time and all the essential tools, the Linea Micra comes in a smart racing green and walnut colourway.

THE ACCESSORY
Wes Anderson X Montblanc
Last year, Wes Anderson created and directed the 100 Years of Meisterstück short film to mark the centenary of Montblanc’s iconic pen. Now the director has designed the Schreiberling – the ‘scribbler’ – inspired by the legendary baby pens of the 1910s and 1920s from the Montblanc archive. In vibrant green and yellow lacquer, accentuated by platinum-coated fitting, the pen is limited to just 1,969 pieces. The Schreiberling is available as part of a writing set presented inside a green tin box with a coral-coloured lining, taking inspiration from the tin toolboxes often seen in Anderson’s films. A notebook, a ruler and ink cartridges in green accompany the fountain pen.

THE COLLAB
Atlantic Coastal Supplies X J. Crew
Atlantic Coastal Supplies makes good-looking equipment and apparel for aquatic adventures. Based in West Penwith, Cornwall, it’s the brainchild of Florida native Shawn Lowry, who channels his previous life as concept designer for Double RL in New York into his brand. As well as surf and swim fins, wetsuits and dive masks, he’s created beach bags, towels that double as games mats, embroidered caps and sunglasses straps – all branded in the sweet Atlantic Coastal Supplies logo. New for summer is a fresh collaboration with J.Crew. Inspired by the two’s shared coastal heritage, the collection includes fishing shirts and surf jackets. We’ve got our eyes on the custom-patterned baseball cap in navy canvas, with an adjustable leather strap and phone number at the back.
THE BIKE
Brompton X Tour De France
Ahead of this year’s race, Brompton and Tour de France have joined forces to launch two limited-edition Bromptons. Available in ‘Leaders Yellow’ and ‘Sprinters Light Green’, the special-edition C Line and P Line models feature race-day photography from renowned Tour de France snappers Pauline Ballet and Charley Lopez, printed directly onto the frame using an innovative sublimation technique. Complete with custom details including Tour de France branded saddles, ‘Allez Allez Allez’ main frame finish and official race decals, these bikes are made for fans and riders alike.

THE SCENT
Parfums de Marly Castley
We’re longtime fans of Parfums de Marly, which likes to trace a lineage all the way back to what founder Julien Sprecher considers the golden age – and place – of scents: 18th-century France. Many of its scents are named after great horses (Sedley is one of our go-tos) and now it’s welcoming Castley to the stable. The bottle combines breezy citrusy and mineral notes, contrasting with rich spicy timut pepper, ambery labdanum and akigwalawood that unveil an intense side. You can also expect notes of bergamot, fresh ginger, black pepper petitgrain citronnier and neroli accord.

THE SPORTSWEAR
Rowing Blazers X Tracksmith
Cult NYC brand Rowing Blazers has linked up with New England-based Tracksmith again for a limited-edition collection celebrating the shared rhythms of two of the world’s oldest athletic traditions: running and rowing. The collection includes staples from both brands’ portfolios – look for co-branded motifs and performance-inspired details. Highlights include Tracksmith’s signature ultra-lightweight men’s racing singlets, t-shirts and shorts made from luxe Italian-sourced fabrics; a lightweight colour-blocked rugby shirt knitted on vintage looms in Portugal; and a pair of Tracksmith Eliot training shoes adorned with Rowing Blazers croquet stripes.
