THE SCENT
Carmen By Trudon
The world’s oldest active candlemaker is now a fragrance house too. Parisian brand Trudon has transformed its cult Ernesto candle into a scent called Carmen. The eau de parfum features Ernesto’s profound tobacco-leather accord, supplemented by bright citrus notes and a touch of rum for warmth. Notes of tobacco and soft honey dry down beautifully against a textured leather. Energised by ambroxan, the composition deepens into rich tones of patchouli, oakwood and labdanum.

THE STORAGE SOLUTION
Rimowa Lehni
A collab that first revealed itself at Milan Design Week, this launch sees German luggage leader Rimowa team up with Lehni, a century-old Swiss furniture manufacturer. The pair have precision-engineered a bench and a drawer for housing Rimowa’s Cabin cases at home. The age-old difficulty around how to store your luggage may just have been resolved.

THE SUNDAY LUNCH
Dorian
Notting Hill’s Dorian is a neighbourhood bistro doing world-level things. With his uncompromising focus on great British produce, head chef Max Coen draws an A-list crowd – except on Sundays, when he takes a day off. The pass is handed over to one of Dorian’s senior grill chefs, who is free to create a few specials for a Sunday roast service centred around sharing cuts of meat. Recent dishes have included bavette steak with blood-orange yoghurt and tacos by senior chef de partie Jake Mills, and buttermilk-fried guinea fowl with borlotti beans and wild garlic by sous chef Max Taylor-Biggs. Diners can also try similarly experimental cocktails from bartender Bertie Morris, such as a Tropic Negroni or Orchard Margarita.

THE EXPERIENCE
Frandy Water At Gleneagles
This month, Gleneagles is opening Frandy Water – a wood-fired sauna and freshwater immersion experience set against the dramatic landscape of rolling Perthshire countryside. Hitting the sauna and cold-water swimming trends, the storied Scottish hotel is offering a private, guided introduction to them both. In signature Gleneagles style, the experience begins with a private Defender drive off the grounds of the hotel, heading to the shores of Frandy Water, just 15 minutes away. At the water's edge sits a panoramic, wood-fired sauna taking up to six guests, with views across the water and surrounding hills.

THE DRINK:
Laphroaig x Willem Dafoe
One of the world’s most distinctive distillers and one of the world’s most distinctive actors have unveiled a limited-edition whisky. Laphroaig and Willem Dafoe’s Willem by Willem arrived with a cool campaign to match. The single malt was chosen not by traditional tasting notes, but on instinct – it’s the one that sparked the most curiosity for Dafoe. The 14-year-old oloroso cask-finished whisky (53.7% ABV) is priced at £139 and available in the UK exclusively in Selfridges from 1st May.
