TRY SOMEWHERE NEW
Soraya
The Pachamama Group (Nina, Bottarga) has opened a sprawling Persian-inspired restaurant in Marylebone. Diners can start with mezze – the borani laboo is a standout – before moving on to a mixed grill of lamb koobideh, chicken joojeh, shashlik and wings, served with saffron rice. The wine list takes in Georgia, Armenia, Lebanon and Turkey, alongside France and Italy.

EAT WELL
Ralphie’s
Tom Booton was the youngest exec chef in the history of The Dorchester’s Grill. He’s now striking out on his own with this neighbourhood restaurant on Pimlico Road. The menu puts a playful spin on British classics, from crispy cod cheeks scampi with warm tartare sauce to pork and mushroom pie with charcuterie sauce. Save room for the vanilla soft-serve sandwich, finished with warm hazelnut and fudge sauce at the table. Sundays promise generous roasts.

The Pembroke
Belgravia has a new members club. Housed in a seven-storey French Renaissance-style townhouse on Grosvenor Place, the Pembroke brings together four restaurants, three cocktail bars, two terraces, a billiards room and a late-night bar. There’s also a cigar room and, for anyone who takes their dairy seriously, a dedicated butter sommelier.

Oudh 1722
Chef Aktar Islam – best known for Birmingham's two-Michelin-starred Opheem – opened Oudh 1722 earlier this year. Here, he focuses on Awadhi cuisine – a rich, historic tradition shaped by the royal courts of northern India. The three-floor restaurant occupies a listed Victorian building, with dishes including Herdwick lamb kebab, malai murgh with cardamom and black cumin and mutanjan dum biryani made with oxtail, aged basmati and sweet carrot.

The wider menu draws on years of relationships with independent producers, farms and vineyards across Portugal, with dishes celebrating lesser-known regions and traditional winemaking.

HEAD EAST
Marrion’s
Elliott Kaye – whose CV includes Lyle’s, The French House and Leroy – has chosen Hackney for his first solo venture. Marrion’s has the feel of a neighbourhood favourite already, with £5 glasses of col fondo, Spanish vermouth and fried olives leading into a menu of nostalgic comfort food. There’s devilled crab rarebit, pork schnitzel Holstein and a proper cheeseburger, though the tuna melt is Kaye’s own favourite. Sunday brunch is also in the works, featuring baked eggs in vodka sauce and lox bagels.
