THE NEED-TO-KNOWS
A highlight in our summer calendar, Taste of London is one of the city's very best food festivals for a reason. From 18th-22nd June, the festival will host over 30 restaurants, with some of the hottest chefs in the country serving more than 120 dishes and leading interactive masterclasses and live entertainment. Whether you’re keen to try some of the capital’s best restaurants without a coveted reservation or after a fun evening out with friends, here’s what to expect across the festival – trust us, you won’t want to miss it.
THE FOOD
Taste showcases some of the best dishes from across the capital, from top chefs to some of London's buzziest restaurants. This year, the festival will introduce a fresh crop of restaurant arrivals. Guy Ritchie’s much-hyped gastropub Lore of the Land (famous for its year-long Sunday roast waiting list) makes its festival debut, alongside sky-high dining from TĪNG at The Shard and bold Mexican-Japanese fusion from Los Mochis. Also on our hit list? Notting Hill’s Empire Empire, Barcelona-inspired The Campaner, modern Korean favourite Akira Back at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair and food from chicken and caviar hotspot Bébé Bob. Of course, fan favourites are back too – including Roka, Chai Wu, Roti King, Norma and Le Petit Beefbar – all serving up premium plates and signature serves.
THE EXPERIENCES
There’s more to Taste than epic dishes. As well as getting the opportunity to try exciting plates across the event, festival goers can get stuck into interactive experiences like the Taste Cook School, which is returning with top chefs including Chantelle Nicholson, Marie Mitchell and Kate Austen. You can also catch live-fire demos at The Taste Fire Pit with Michelin-starred talent like Pascal Aussignac of Club Gascon and AngloThai’s John Chantarasak – hosted by the always-charismatic DJ BBQ. Plus, catch up with SheerLuxe’s lifestyle editor Sherri Andrew as she joins team Taste for an extra special activation on Wednesday evening.
Korean flavours take the spotlight at Taste’s new K-Food BBQ Cook School, where chefs like Judy Joo and Jihun Maxime Kim of Dosa will bring the heat. And if you’re looking to brush up your skills, don’t miss Taste Sessions with The Royal Parks – a mix of intimate talks and tastings focused on sustainability, wellness and wild ingredients.
Then there are the drink options. For a touch of indulgence, Piper-Heidsieck will be popping bottles at its signature champagne bar, while drinks group Diageo will debut its AI-powered ‘What’s Your Cocktail?’ bar, matching your taste buds to your ideal serve. Jack Daniel’s, el Jimador and illy coffee will also be mixing things up with cocktails, live music and fun treats such as coffee desserts and cotton candy.
