London Oyster Championships

Marking the start of native oyster season, the London Oyster Championships return to Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill in Mayfair on Thursday 19th September. Competitors will face off in Speed Shucking and Best Dressed heats, with the Speed Shucking winner advancing to the World Championships in Galway. Meanwhile, reigning Best Dressed champion Gabriel Waterhouse (The Waterhouse Project) returns to defend his title against top UK restaurants including Erst (Manchester), The Suffolk (Aldeburgh), Darby’s (London) and The Pony Chew Valley (Bristol). Judges include Ballymaloe Cookery School founder Darina Allen, rapper and foodie Professor Green, and Bentley’s owner Richard Corrigan. Food writer Gizzi Erskine will host the day’s events.

Ekstedt at The Yard has got a new tasting menu that combines live fire-cooking with Michelin-starred Nordic cuisine and a one-of-a-kind volcanic wine pairing. Brought to London by wood-fired cooking master Niklas Ekstedt, the menu features the dishes that have kept his Stockholm restaurant's Michelin star for 11 consecutive years. Within Great Scotland Yard Hotel, his Scandinavian dishes are being made with British ingredients, all cooked over an open flame for rich, smoky flavours. Choose between five-course (£90) or seven-course (£120) menus featuring the likes of ember baked scallops, pine smoked wild duck breast, and seaweed baked langoustine.

Book A Plant-Based Supper Club

Tendril X No Meat Disco

This month marks one year since plant-first chef Rishim Sachdeva opened the doors to Tendril restaurant in Mayfair. To celebrate, he’s teaming up with plant-first influencer Sam Jones (No Meat Disco) for a two-day collab at Tendril. On Friday 20th September, they are serving a £59pp seven-course menu featuring dishes like oyster mushroom tostada, maple-glazed aubergine and a burnt Basque cheesecake. Saturday is Party Night. For £35pp, guests can enjoy a plant-based feast, a disco cocktail on arrival, and Sam’s curated playlist. Dishes include crispy cabbage fritters, butternut squash skewers and Chinatown potatoes.

Fume, the BBQ fest curated by foodie influencer Eating with Tod, is back at Peckham Arches from 19th to 22nd September. This year’s line-up features award-winning BBQ vendors from across the UK and beyond, serving up everything from succulent ribs to melt-in-your-mouth brisket. Dusty Knuckle Fundraiser

The Dusty Knuckle, widely regarded as one of London’s best bakeries, is celebrating its 10th birthday with a fundraiser to support its youth training programme. Head to Dalston Roofpark for a night of great food and music, with Rudimental headlining, alongside DJ Target, Clipz, Chloe Robinson and more. Simon Rogan

A pioneer in sustainable eating, Simon Rogan is bringing his farm-to-fork ethos to Uber Eats. The owner of three Michelin star restaurants – L’Enclume and Aulis are just two – has collaborated on a special meal with the delivery company. Consisting of five courses, the menu features produce from Simon’s farm in the Cartmel Valley and the surrounding countryside. Even the packaging will be delivered in bespoke biodegradable seaweed material. Highlights include a 51-ingredient salad and a heritage breed short rib. It'll be available to UberOne customers on the 18th September, then available to all users on the 19th – for one night only.
