TAKE YOUR MATES

Acme Fire Cult At 40FT Brewery, Dalston

Chefs Andrew Clarke (of Brunswick House fame) and Daniel Watkins have opened a restaurant at 40FT Brewery in Dalston. Acme Fire Cult serves a seasonal rotating menu of veggie BBQ dishes made with beer by-products – think marmite made from leftover beer yeast, hot sauce made with beer-soaked chillies and beer molasses to drizzle on desserts. The current menu includes grilled leeks with pistachio romesco; beetroot with a sweet and sour dill dressing, beetroot purée and pickled blueberries; and coal roasted celeriac with mushroom kelp. You can also choose from meat and fish flat breads topped with Dorset crab, bone marrow, smoked short ribs or beef fat crema. Choose from ten beers brewed on site (including monthly special editions to go with the menu) as well as classic cocktails and wine from an extensive list.

Circuit Society

KOBOX founder Shane Collins has opened a new gym in Camden. Circuit Society is based around the simple premise of splitting your workout 50-50 between cardio and strength training. There are six training stations which focus on a different part of the body, including arms, legs, core – think jogging, sprinting, kettlebell swinging and shoulder presses. Classes are led by industry experts and you can choose each one depending on your fitness level or music taste – we like the sound of the hip hop and R&B session. Membership starts from £20pcm.
