Rai is the new Japanese restaurant in Fitzrovia to have on your radar. Headed up by chef and sushi master Padam Raj Rai (the guy behind Hot Stone in Islington), diners can experience omakase-style tasting menus with paired sake. Meals start with a light snack, like crispy rice and tuna, followed by dishes like homemade marinated tofu, wagyu beef with wasabi from Japan, and scallop sashimi with plums and spicy miso. For dessert, expect the likes of wagyu chocolate with rosemary, pistachio and mixed berries; and organic dark chocolate with Yamazaki 12 Year Old whisky.
