14 Hills on Fenchurch Street has opened a rooftop terrace for socially distanced dining. With impressive views across London’s skyline, it’s good for al fresco lunches or evening drinks. A new terrace menu features modern British dishes with a touch of French flair, including monkfish tail with prosciutto, asparagus and beurre blanc; tomahawk steak with béarnaise and peppercorn sauce; asparagus and pea risotto with crispy wild garlic and leeks; and dressed crab with cucumber, lemon and dill. For dessert, diners can choose from roast rhubarb pavlova with almond ice-cream, 70% chocolate tart, and caramelised pineapple tarte tatin. Finish off the meal with a fresh cocktail or a glass of wine from the extensive list.

TRY NEW FLAVOURS: Covent Garden Street Food Festival
Running for six weeks until 16th May, this street-food festival on Covent Garden’s West Piazza features exciting up-and-coming concepts from Utter Waffle, Smoky Gaucho, The Barrow, Milktree Vegan Gelato, Bubble Bros, The Little Orange Van, Kuka Coffee, Beetle Juice Drinks and Hermanos Tacos House. With extra seating on the East Piazza, visitors can dine al fresco while sampling some new dishes exclusive to the event. The festival is open from Thursdays to Sundays.

TUNE INTO THIS VIRTUAL EVENT: The Art And History Of Pies
On Saturday at 4pm, the British Library will host a virtual event about the history of pies in conversation with ‘piemaster’ Calum Franklin. During the live session, you’ll be invited into the heart of Franklin’s bespoke pie room in London’s Holborn Dining Room to watch him create one of his pastry showstoppers while reflecting on the historical cooks, techniques and traditions that have inspired him.
