Wondering what to do this weekend? SLMan has you covered. From restaurant openings and pop-ups to a new psychological drama, here’s what to get stuck into…

BOOK A TABLE: Bad Vegan

Tom Kerridge and Mark Emms have just opened a vegan restaurant in Camden. Diners can choose from a plant-based menu, while non-vegans can add meaty toppings to their order, like beef brisket and spicy ’nduja sausage. Menu highlights include the ‘Taternator’, a crunchy potato finger wrapped in a tortilla with vegan cheese, and ‘Streetdough’ flatbread pizzas made with leftover yeast from Bad Vegan’s Session IPA. Toppings include smoky aubergine baba ghanoush, and roast mushrooms with black truffle.

Quentin Tarantino’s first novel came out yesterday. Based on his 2019 film of the same name, the book tells the story of actor Rick Dalton, who gained fame and fortune starring in a 1950s TV western. Struggling to find meaningful work in a Hollywood he doesn't recognise anymore, he spends most of his time drinking with his best friend and stunt double, Cliff. TUNE INTO THIS NEW PODCAST: The Witness: In His Own Words

Based on Nicola Tallant’s book The Witness, this new podcast is a hell of a ride for true crime fans. In 2005, Joseph O’Callaghan’s testimony helped convict two drug-dealing gangsters for murder, and he became the youngest person ever to enter witness protection in Ireland. Now, as the men he put away agitate for release, he tells his extraordinary life story in his own words for the first time.
