Balfour Jake’s Reserve

Kent-based Balfour Winery has expanded into craft beers and ciders. Created in collaboration with Kent’s Cellar Head Brewing Co, its English lager is the unique result of their combined winemaking and brewing expertise. Featuring a mix of classic, revived and new hop varieties, it pairs beautifully with fish dishes like scampi and is the perfect food beer for wine drinkers looking to expand their palate.

Alhambra Especial

This Spanish beer is a must try for pilsner fans. Made by a brewery down in Granada, it has great provenance and it’s been one of the best new beers our buying team has tried in recent months. Inspired by premium German beers, it has autumnal, cosy vibes, and its rich flavours match well with Spanish dishes.

Coopers Pale Ale

Coopers comes from an old family-owned brewery in Australia, with a heritage dating back to 1862 when Thomas Cooper founded a small brewery in Adelaide using a traditional Yorkshire family recipe. Since then, Coopers has grown from a niche South Australian beer into a national favourite. Its bottle-conditioned pale ale delivers a perfect draught-style finish with every pour. With malt aromas, floral and grassy hop notes, and a subtle yeast complexity, it goes well with sushi, white fish or spicy Thai dishes.

Erdinger Oktoberfest

This beer has the ultimate German heritage. It’s great during the autumn month – and for a slice of Oktoberfest at home. Behind its bold German packaging, there are rich and malty notes best enjoyed with a big spread of food – think Bavarian-style feasts or cheese or charcuterie boards.

DRINKS BUYER

Maka Di Bavarian Keller

Maka Di is a craft brewery from Goa which just launched in the UK. A few of its beers are now available to buy at Maharaja Drinks, a new drinks emporium specialising in Indian pours. Of the new releases, my favourite is Bavarian Keller, a beautifully balanced unfiltered lager. Its soft malt sweetness blends with a gentle hop bitterness, offering a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel. As I sipped it for the first time, the cloudy appearance and subtle yeast undertones reminded me of a traditional Bavarian cellar brew.

There's A Lot To Do by Deya

Dey’s ‘There’s A Lot To Do’ is a smooth, hazy IPA that delivers tropical and citrus-forward flavours with every sip. At 6.0% ABV, it strikes a balance between juicy sweetness and a mild bitterness, making it a well-rounded, refreshing drink. The hop profile brings out notes of mango, grapefruit, and pineapple, with a slightly resinous finish. What sets this IPA apart is its creamy mouthfeel, thanks to Deya’s signature soft water and use of oats. It’s the perfect beer for those who love bold, juicy hops but prefer a well-balanced, drinkable IPA.

Magic Rock Fantasma

Magic Rock's Fantasma is a fun, gluten-free IPA that’s packed with juicy tropical flavours. With bold hits of mango and grapefruit, it’s both refreshing and full-bodied. Even though it’s gluten-free, you wouldn’t know it – it’s smooth, hoppy, and just the right amount of bitter. Perfect for kicking back after a long day or when you’re craving a seriously tasty IPA without the gluten. Easy to drink and bursting with personality, Fantasma is a of my favourite craft beer brands as each release is flavourful but still approachable.

Jiddlers Tipple Juicy Chug Hazy IPA

Jiddlers Tipple Juicy Chug is a hazy IPA that’s all about easy-drinking fun. With tropical fruit flavours – think pineapple, mango, and a bit of citrus – it's a beer you can easily chug (as the name suggests!) without overwhelming your taste buds. It’s also loaded with oats and wheat, giving it a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Perfect for casual get-togethers or just when you want something reliable.

THINKING DRINKERS

Beavertown Brewery 8 Ball Rye IPA

Released every autumn by the talented folk at Beavertown in north London, this beer is a standout seasonal treat. It’s a bold fusion of peppery rye, zesty grapefruit and fresh-cut grass, all balanced by a hearty hop punch wrapped in a velvety smooth finish. The beer gets its quirky name from its origins – it was initially brewed using old pool balls to weigh down the hop sacks during the brewing process. Rich in flavour and creativity, it’s a must-try for hop enthusiasts looking for something a bit different this autumn.

Now, for a limited time in the UK, beer lovers can enjoy its juicy, hazy IPA. Brewed with a trio of intensely aromatic hops, it delivers bold, vibrant flavours that are hard to forget. It's a rare find on UK shelves, so be sure to grab it while you can.

Burning Sky Petite Framboise

This exceptional funky fruit beer comes from the heart of the Sussex Downs. Aged in oak barrels and rested on raspberries, it’s fruity with a touch of tartness and beautifully balanced. For the ultimate experience, pour it into a champagne flute and pair with a chunk of dark chocolate. It’s an indulgent combination you won’t forget – thank me later.
