What To Pack For A Staycation

Packing tends to be a last-minute nuisance – and nine times out of ten you’ll forget something. If you’re staycationing this summer, here’s a packing check list to take the pain away. From shorts and sweatshirts to trunks and gilets, these are the items you shouldn’t go away without.

Classic Shorts

Essential for: Busy beach days and warm BBQ evenings alike.
Make sure: You get the length right – no board shorts or bulky pockets, please. You’ll want at least a couple of pairs.

A Cool Hoodie

Essential for: The beach, a walk, a game of tennis or just a general mooch around.
Make sure: You keep it simple – chances are you’re going to need that hoodie to go with everything, so avoid fussy prints or patterns. A block colour will have you covered.

Everyday Chinos

Essential for: When shorts won’t do and denim is too hot or not smart enough.
Make sure: Pack a pale-coloured pair or have fun with a pastel - it is summer afterall.

A Great Knit

Essential for: Chilly evenings.
Make sure: You avoid cashmere. Chances are you’re going to make that jumper work hard, so it needs to be made of sturdy stuff.

A Linen Shirt

Essential for: Throwing on with all of the above.
Make sure: You get a fit that’s just right – not too oversized and definitely not too tight.

A Gilet

Essential for: Any UK staycation.
Make sure: You don’t forget it.

Trunks

Essential for: Sunny days at the seaside.
Make sure: They’re not too big.

THE RIGHT Shoes

Essential for:  Everything from the beach to the golf club bar and for every weather eventuality.
Make sure: You also pack your flipflops.

PLUS….

Several Ts or polos, a pair of mid washed denim jeans, pants, socks & PJs. Bonne vacance!
