Ascot's Spring Family Raceday

Ascot is back for 2024. On Sunday 24th March, the racecourse is hosting a Spring Family Raceday. There will be a seven-race card, featuring runners from Cheltenham Festival, as well as a return of some old favourites during the Veterans’ chase. Alongside the races, there will be fun for the children with an appearance by the Gruffalo, as well as face painting, and arts and crafts. Adult tickets from £30, with free entry for under-18s.

£1 Lunch at Choppaluna

To celebrate the launch of its new spot in Wembley, healthy chopped salad joint Choppaluna is offering customers £1 lunches. Running from Thursday to Sunday this week, between 11am to 2:pm, the first 250 customers can grab a cheap lunch. While it’s famous for its un-boring salads, this promotion is for the chain’s new hot bowls including harissa chicken, Thai peanut curry, beef chilli con carne and a Korean beef bowl.

If you need a breather after a busy week, Somerset House is transforming its grand courtyard into a bamboo-filled oasis where you can escape city life for a moment of calm. A free installation by artist Zheng Bo invites visitors to disconnect from their busy lives and immerse themselves in nature. Zheng's commission is part of Somerset House's annual Courtyard Commission Series, showcasing international contemporary artists known for their innovative approaches to sustainability and ecology.

Claridge’s Sunday Lunch

Claridge’s Restaurant has introduced a new three-course Sunday Roast menu. The starters are classics: ham hock terrine, gratinated french onion soup, and seabass and crab fishcake. For the main course, you can pick from Norfolk black leg chicken, roasted Herefordshire rib of beef, or porchetta. To accompany, you can expect all the trimmings: roast potatoes, glazed carrots, seasonal greens and cauliflower and cheese gratin, not forgetting the gravy. Desserts include baked meringue tart and apple crumble. It’s £75 for two courses and £90 for three.
