CASEY GUTTERIDGE

Grab A Drink:

Prelude By Oriole

Three-month pop-up Prelude by Oriole opened its doors in The Yards last week. From the minds behind great boltholes like Bar Swift and Nightjar, Prelude paves the way for a new permanent place coming this summer. Alongside the usual outstanding cocktails, there’s an à la carte menu featuring dishes like beef tartare sando, and duck with orange mole. Prelude isn’t quite as late night as its older siblings – it’s open ’til 11pm, Wednesday to Saturday, with a couple of live piano sets each night.

Book Ahead:

Roast at Sucre

The Easter bank holiday is fast approaching, so it’s time to lock in those reservations. New for that weekend, Soho’s Sucre is launching its new offering, an Argentinian-inspired open-fire cooked roast. Served from 12pm-4pm across the weekend, we can think of few things better than a tender beef joint cooked over charcoal and wood embers.

Celebrate Iftar:

The Gantry Hotel

Launching this Saturday (23rd March), The Gantry in Stratford has collaborated with cult-favourite British Afghan smokehouse Cue Point Ldn for an Iftar Saturday Supper Club series. Coinciding with Ramadan and the Solar New Year, the duo will be infusing quintessential British classics and Afghan flavour profiles. Over the next three weekends at the luxe hotel’s restaurant Union Social, diners can break their fast with sharing BBQ dishes of oak-smoked beef ribs and chicken, served alongside unami sides like cheesy baked potato mash in saffron butter and smoked leeks with pomegranate molasses dressing.
