SPOTIFY

For House Parties:

Gucci Party

Gucci’s Spotify account is one of our favourites for its curated playlists by big-name DJs and its in-house events team. Its new party playlist by Mark Ronson features his favourite tracks from years of DJing and collecting. The mix includes everything from Sister Sledge and Eurythmics to Pet Shop Boys and Caroline Polachek.

For Techno Bangers:

Disclosure’s Record Bag

If you’re hosting pre-drinks over Christmas, this is a great playlist with something for everyone. Curated by Disclosure, it includes more than 1,000 songs (that’s over 24 hours of music), featuring the group’s favourite tracks of all time from Daft Punk, Bicep, Slowthai, Tom Misch and Cher. Ideal for just plugging in and putting on shuffle.

For Hip Hop & R&B Anthems:

Soho House: Active

Soho House has a whole music team to curate its live events, led by Dom Chung (brother of Alexa). Its recently updated Active playlist includes nearly 150 songs by the likes of Warren G, Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dog and Eve, as well as remixes by south London’s Joy Anonymous.

APPLE MUSIC

For Timeless Festive Hits:

Christmas Crooners

If your perfect Christmas playlist includes 40s and 50s classics by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald, this one’s for you. With three hours’ worth of songs, this playlist is full of timeless tracks your parents will approve of.

For Dance Hits:

Calvin Harris x Shazam

Calvin Harris has teamed up with Shazam to create this playlist of high-energy tunes by 90s legends Faithless, The Prodigy, Orbital and Underworld. You can also expect a couple of Calvin’s own floor fillers, like ‘Desire’ and ‘Miracle’.

For A Festival Mix:

Fatboy Slim at ARC

Apple Music has a great selection of mixes from big-name DJs, and Fatboy Slim’s is one of our favourites. Taken from his set at this year’s ARC Festival in Chicago, it includes tracks by Marvin Gaye, Peggy Gou, Disclosure, Talking Heads and more.

For Alt Tunes:

A Very Indie Christmas

This alternative festive playlist includes covers from Arlo Parks, Sam Fender, Phoebe Bridgers, Liam Gallagher and The Killers, to name a few. We like Arlo’s take on ‘Last Christmas’.

Afrobeats Mix 2023

NYC DJ Hol Up has created a two-hour mix of this year’s biggest hits from Afrobeat heavyweights Burna Boy, Rema, Wizkid, Asake, Tems and Ayra Starr. Look out for big hits like ‘Me & U’ and ‘Water’ as well as remixes featuring Drake and J Hus.

For A Killer Mix:

Lady Shaka at Glastonbury 2023

You’ve probably spotted London-based DJ Lady Shaka all over social media this year – and for good reason, her sets of noughties tunes are some of the best we’ve discovered in 2023. Her set at Glastonbury this year is one continuous mix of hip hop, R&B, soca and pop songs. Skip to 31:04 for a big drop.
