Spend An Afternoon

Sunday Papers Live

Sunday Papers Live returns on 16th June. Immerse yourself in talks by writers, artists, and comedians, all of whom will bring the papers to life in a listed venue, which has been transformed into a cosy living room, complete with Bloody Mary bars, roast dinners, live music, crosswords and crafts. This edition’s line-up is a closely guarded secret for now, but the March edition showcased discussions from a wide range of personalities, including John Rees on Julian Assange, Tom Baldwin on the Labour Party and Keir Starmer, and the CEO of Sea Shepherd on activism at sea. Tickets start from £39.50.

Go Out Out

House Party x Stormzy

Have you got nostalgia for ‘90s house parties? Us too. Soho has a new spot you’ll want to know about: a new nightlife concept by Stormzy and Cream Group (Cirque le Soir, Reign, The Windmill). Spread across seven unique floors, each designed to mimic a different room in a house, the venue offers immersive experiences with actors, performers and interactive elements, as well as a cool drinks menu, and New York-style pizzas, available by the slice or whole. Unlike typical West End clubs and bars, it doesn't take itself too seriously, so you can expect karaoke, beer pong, and vintage video games on offer, too.

Alley Cats X All Things Butter

This trendy new spot in Marylebone pays homage to New York’s iconic pizza scene, featuring a cosy dining space with glazed subway tiles, gingham tablecloths, exposed brick walls and pizza stands perfect for stacking and sharing. Alley Cats has now announced an exciting collaboration with the viral butter brand All Things Butter, founded by chef Thomas Straker. Available until June 30th, the burnt red chilli butter will be used in a new, limited-edition starter – the All Things Butter x Alley Cats Dough Balls. Follow up with one of the crispy 14-inch pizzas, topped with classic combinations like slow-cooked vodka-infused tomato sauce.

22 Paddington Street, Marylebone, W1U 5QY; until 30th June.

Watch The Euros

Clapham Grand

The Euros kicks off this weekend and the energy is palpable. This Sunday, the Lions will face Serbia, who were in good form in a friendly against Sweden last week. Known for going viral for its crowd celebrations in previous years, Clapham Grand will show all England matches on its 24ft screens. You can book seats, or go large and get a royal box, but if you can only nab a standing ticket, the free beer will soften the blow. After 2021’s nail-biting conclusion – concluding in penalties against Italy – it may be Gareth Southgate’s last chance to bring home a win for his England team.
